We have 3 age groups. They are:
Sparklers- age 7-10 years old. This group builds upon the techniques listed in the above age group, and develops them. We also do a lot of improvisation, creating skits and even choreography, interpretation of material, and more. This group puts on 30-45 minute shows at the end of each semester, along with other special performances during the semester, and finishing with the end of year Cabaret and Talent Show.
Glitteratti - Age 11-16. These are our "rockstars"! This group will tackle much more difficult material, as well as creating their own! This group gets to delve deeper into the craft of acting and improvisation, and learn about all aspects of theatrical production. They do two large musical shows, like the younger groups, but we will add more performance opportunities with this age group, even travel! The Glitteratti also finish the year with our annual Cabaret and Talent Show.
NEW! "All-Star" Class!
Acceptance to this class is BY AUDITION ONLY! only! Ages 9 years old and up. Children who wish to enter this class must have 2 years of experience in ACT or have had least 2 leading/larger roles or solos in a show. We may consider special requests for those who do not meet these requirements if we believe your child is committed and ready to be part of a more challenging, inter-aged group. This group will have extra performances and rehearsals, so we are looking for the most committed students! This is a YEAR-LONG course, where students who have been with us awhile can get more advanced training and workshops, and work towards a big performance at the end of the year. (Students may stay part of the core program for the Fall, but in the Spring they will have a separate, more advanced show). Students in the "All-Star" group will get free or discounted admission to all special workshops, and other special privileges. This is our way to continue to challenge our more experienced students and further their growth, while also opening up opportunities in the core programs for less experienced students to move up into leading roles, so don't fret if your child does not make it into the group the first time! This will benefit everyone! Sign up to get more info!

SPECIALIZED WEEKLY WORKSHOPS*:
ACTING INTENSIVE WORKSHOP ages 8 to 16 - This is a NON-MUSICAL class to focus m
ore "in-depth" on acting. We will develop basic acting techniques, work on building a vocabulary and base for acting work. Students will work on partner and small group scenes, improvisations, and the course will even include an introduction to Shakespeare!
"TWINKLE TOES" Class - This class is geared towards our youngest dancers, ages 3 to 6, to give them an introduction to beginning dance and tap techniques, and build a foundation for 3 basic dance styles. We will teach a little bit of classic technique, beginning broadway dance and jazz, as well as beginning tap! This is a shorter (45 minute) class.
BROADWAY DANCE AND TAP , ages 8 and up - If you want to focus more on the "dance" side of performance, we have a class for you! These classes focus on Broadway style dance, jazz, and tap, with an introduction to the techniques and stylistic differences between "Broadway" dance and classical dance. Different levels based on age, experience and ability. Please contact us if you're not sure of the right class for your child.
VOCAL PERFORMANCE Workshop - ages 8 to 16 - This class will focus on singing and vocal training and performance, including building proper technique, as well as working on the performance aspects of singing on stage. Scholarship Opportunities are Available
We never want a child to be prevented from participating due to financial difficulty. We can offer or full scholarships on a need basis, with a volunteer exchange (you help us, we help you!). We believe the arts should be accessible for all, and are a very important part of a child's development, but we are an association with a limited budget, so in order to offer this help to you, we must have a way to save money in another area (either by saving on staff hours or on time, energy, etc.)
Please email the Director for more information on scholarships, at director@actparis.com .
